Norwegian Sygna Shipwreck Tour from Port Stephens Australia -- In May 1974, a Norwegian bulk carrier ship named the Sygna Bergen ran aground during her maiden voyage. Guests travel 26 kilometres down Stockton Beach to reach the massive wreck where they then enjoy their morning or afternoon tea, endless dunes and unspoiled ocean. On the return trip from the Sygna, the hidden wonders of the dunes only remote fishing village called "Tin City" are discovered. The Sygna Tour also incorporates adrenalin pumping sandboarding for the adventure seeker as passengers have the chance to board down dunes up to 30 - 50 meters high, with slopes of 60 degrees.

Guests are given the chance to view and learn about WWII and historical sites, take part in pipi catch and release demonstrations, and take advantage of the endless photographic opportunities.

There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

The Sygna Tour is distinctively designed to encompass everything the magnificent Stockton Bight has on offer. We use modern, comfortable 4WD vehicles and our friendly drivers are fully qualified.

What are Pipis?

~ Pipis, also known as "Goolwa Cockle", are protected by law by NSW Fisheries and the removal of pipis off any NSW beach is illegal.
~ Pipis were historically gathered commercially for bait and food in southern NSW.
~ Pipis spawn over September and October, mature at 13 months of age, shell length 36 mm. They reach max length of 60 mm at 3 years of age. Pipis live for 4-5 years and growth carries with season and age.
~ Pipis are used in soups and chowders, are stored alive, frozen or pickled and must be tested prior to human consumptions for toxic algae.
